Glendale provides grounds maintenance for Yorkshire College

Glendale have been awarded the contract to provides grounds maintenance services to Kirklees College in Huddersfield.

The local team will provide the college with a full spectrum of grounds maintenance services including grass cutting, weed spraying, shrub bed and hedge maintenance.

As part of their contract deliver it is necessary for the team to be mindful of the noise restrictions imposed during term time, particularly around exam season.

David Barkley, contract manager for Glendale, comments: “We are developing a detailed work programme with Kirklees College to take into account the busiest times of the day, in order to minimise disruption as much as possible and safeguard the students.

“Having a high-quality campus is essential for colleges like Kirklees as it is one of the key selling points for new students looking to join.  It is therefore important that we ensure the site is aesthetically pleasing all year round and provides plenty of well maintained green space for sport and leisure activities.”

Kirklees College is one of the biggest colleges in the country and caters for nearly 18,000 students.

The contract will last for a period of five years.
