Glendale Apprentice Attends RHS Chelsea Flower Show!

In May, we were offered a free ticket by BALI, the leading Trade Association for UK landscape professionals, to the Young Persons’ Breakfast event at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. This proved to be a great opportunity for one of our flourishing apprentices to network with others within the horticultural industry.

Glendale apprentice Leon Boddy attended, supported by senior arborist Michael Tutty. The event was on Friday the 27^th  of May, Leon and Michael travelled down South to Chelsea the day before, ready to wake up bright and early for their day ahead of them. The both of them were able to tour some of the exhibitions at the show and there were several facilitators from a wide range of employers and the horticultural industry to host the event.

They did say that the free food was the highlight of the event, although a bit light as a Northern breakfast! All in all, Leon found the event extremely rewarding and it certainly gave him a better insight into the horticultural industry.

We’re extremely grateful to BALI for offering us this opportunity. Glendale is a member of BALI-NCF, the British Association of Landscape Industries’ National Contractor’s Forum. The NCF focuses on uniting the landscaping, grounds maintenance and horticultural industries, providing a voice to represent this sector.
